2023 Anthology Project

The Ohio Writers' Association is pleased to announce our 2023 anthology, House of Secrets: Every Room Holds a Story. We are collecting fiction and creative nonfiction related to the theme of secrets. We are looking for stories about making, keeping, discovering, and revealing secrets. Our submission window runs from March 28, 2023, through April 20, 2023.

We are looking for stories from 1,000 to 10,000 words in length. There is a nominal $5 cost to submit a piece, but paying members of the Ohio Writers’ Association may submit one piece for consideration at no charge! For the stories we choose, we will pay $50 and provide complimentary copies of the paperback and audiobook versions. This is made possible through a grant from the Ohio Arts Council.

As we did with our previous two anthologies, we will work with the Ohio Audiobook Narrators to create a quality audiobook of our book to accompany our print and eBook versions. Few things are more rewarding than hearing your story read and produced by a professional audiobook narrator.

Write something new, or polish up an old piece. But submit a story for consideration before April 20. You can submit stories using the links below.

If you have questions about this publishing opportunity or want more information, please get in touch with us at anthology@ohiowriters.org.
