E-Readers: the good, the bad & the Kindle

Since 1971, the concept of digital books has been around. But e-readers, as we know them today, took time to evolve. Early attempts, like the Rocket eBook in 1998, failed to take off, and for years, digital reading remained a niche market. That changed in 2007 when Amazon released the first successful e-ink device: the Kindle.

By the 2010s, e-readers had solidified their place in the book world, with some readers even shifting to tablets for their digital libraries. Still, the debate rages on — should you go digital, or is a good old-fashioned paperback the only way to read?

If you’re open to the e-reading experience but unsure where to start, the right device could change everything. Let’s browse the most popular e-readers and see if one fits your bookshelf!
