A Virtual Evening with Victoria and Albert Museum Director Tristam Hunt


The Hudson Library and Historical Society of Hudson, Ohio, will host a virtual streaming event with Tristram Hunt, the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum director. Mr. Hunt will discuss his latest book, The Radical Potter: The Life and Times of Josiah Wedgwood.


Josiah Wedgewood was one of the most well-known artists of the eighteenth century. His work is known worldwide. Empress Catherine of Russia owned his pottery. Jane Austen wrote about him, and British diplomats brought his pottery to Peking to impress the Chinese. Moreover, Wedgewood was an inventor, businessman, and fierce abolitionist.


Tristam Hunt is one of Britain’s most well-known historians and director of the Victoria and Albert Museum. He is a senior lecturer in British History at Queen Mary University of London, a former member of Parliament, and regularly appears on BBC television and radio.
