Uncommon Strangers focuses on the lives of five men, all of whom came of age in the 1960s. Building on his own life story, the author and his characters look at the impact of growing up in dysfunctional families and the difficulties childhood trauma causes over a lifetime. Luce's unique style and layering of complexity makes for a fascinating read.
