About the event
Ecopoetry explores the relationship between humans and the non-human world, paying close attention to the human impact on the planet. In this generative poetry workshop, participants will read and respond to contemporary ecopoetry, learn craft techniques and approaches to creating ecopoetry, and will draft their own poems. For anyone interested in nature writing, ecopoetry, or the natural world. All experience levels are welcome in this introductory workshop.
Carrie George is a co-editor of Light Enters the Grove: Exploring Cuyahoga Valley National Park Through Poetry, Kent State University Press. Her chapbook Unbecoming won the 2024 Flume Press chapbook prize. She is the recipient of an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award, and her work has appeared in Best of the Net, DIAGRAM, Hayden's Ferry Review, and elsewhere.
